Opening soon

Firstly, we want to say that we sincerely hope you, your friends and your family are staying well and healthy.

Following the announcement by the Government that dental practices are able to re-open, we are pleased to advise that we will be re-opening soon. When we are able to open, initially we will be prioritising appointments for our existing patients who have had dental emergencies during lockdown in order of urgency, i.e pain, infection and require urgent treatment, with a view to start routine dentistry as soon as we can. We are working hard behind the scenes and as always our patients and staff safety is our priority, therefore, we will be ensuring the correct measures are in place before we fully open.

We will not be seeing patients for routine treatment or examinations yet but we will update you as soon as we are able to.
During this period, please only attend the practice if you have been given an emergency appointment by our reception team.

Please do not attend the practice unless you have an appointment.

To continue ensuring the health and safety of our patients and staff the above measures will operate within social distancing measures. Please follow the 2 metre rule at all times within the practice unless directed otherwise by our staff. This is for your safety as well as the safety of the team.

The team at Dental Suite Hounslow want to take a moment to update you on some new things you might see and experience moving forward:

Before you arrive:

• We are setting up electronic forms which will be emailed to you to complete, once you have a confirmed appointment.
• Please give your medical history clear attention as this has changed significantly.
• Please ONLY visit if our team have contacted you and you have a confirmed appointment.
• We may ask you to join an on-line or phone/video call with your dentist to better understand your current health and immediate needs.
• Please be prepared to use telephone/online payment for your treatment to minimise surface contact and congestion in the reception area.

• Where applicable, we will require payment before your appointment.
• Where possible, please use the bathroom before attending the practice as our toilet facilities will NOT be available for use.

• Please use a mouthwash at home before coming to see us, along with some gargling to clear your throat. Salt and warm water will suffice if you cannot use Corsodyl (chlorhexidine) mouthwash. If using Corsodyl, you will need to keep this in your mouth for 2 minutes for it to be effective.

When you arrive:

• We must NOT shake hands
• Kindly wear any type mask/mouth covering, particularly if you fall into a high risk/vulnerable group

• You will know if you fall into one of these groups from the medical questionnaire

• Please attend your appointment alone, unless you need a carer or are the parent/guardian.

• Please only bring a small bag with your mobile phone and method of payment. Weather permitting, please do not wear a coat or jacket.
• Please arrive at the exact time for your appointment, if you are early please wait in your car or at a safe distance from the main door.
• You will either be called by phone or a staff member will appear at the main door to chaperone you into the practice. Please stand in the designated areas, and DO NOT cross the floor markings.
• We may not be able to accommodate patients in our reception area due to social distancing rules, and may ask you to wait in your car or outside the practice
• Under certain circumstances, we may perform a limited health examination / temperature check prior to entering. We may not be able to see you if you are considered 'high risk' and may refer you to a special centre.
• We will provide hand sanitisers on entry and may ask you to wear a medical grade mask or other Personal Protective Equipment during your time in practice.

During Treatment:

• Our team will adopt enhanced levels of Personal Protective Equipment, including masks, which may include a visor or other eye protection.
• Please be understanding if we ask that anyone accompanying you remains outside the room or even the building.
• You may be asked to rinse your mouth prior to commencement of your treatment.
• We may place a rubber sheet in your mouth to reduce saliva and spray debris. Please advise us if you have a latex allergy.

• NHS England have not permitted us to use the dental drill until the national Covid19 levels have significantly reduced and it is SAFE for us to do so. This may significantly limit the type of treatment we are currently able to offer

When you leave:

• Hand sanitiser will be available and to minimise unnecessary contact we may book your next appointment in the treatment room. We will email you receipts and confirmation rather than hand over paper. Alternatively, we may ask you to leave promptly and call you for further discussions regarding appointments.

We want to reassure you that we are doing everything we can to ensure we are ready for your return to our practice. Please be assured that your safety is the highest priority for us at ALL times. We look forward to seeing you as soon as we can.

We care about your dental health.

Our team is continuously available for telephone conversations and advice in normal working hours (Monday - Friday 09:00-17:00, closed for lunch 1-2pm). Our reception team will triage any calls and one of our clinical team will call you back at a mutually convenient time.

IMPORTANT: If you or a family member have COVID 19 symptoms, please contact us in advance before coming in. This way we can instruct you on how to proceed for the safety of all. Feel free to contact us with any questions. We are here for you.
