How often should I see the dentist for a check-up and cleaning?

3, 6, 12 months depending on your individual needs, which will be assessed at each review appointment

What precautions do you take to ensure patient safety?

We are compliant with HTM01-05 (infection control) and CQC regulations. We regularly update patient medical histories. It is important for you to inform us of any medical conditions and allergies you may have, even if you think it is not relevant to your treatment. Please also provide a list of your current medications, bought over the counter or prescribed, at each check up appointment. All dentists are registered with the GDC.

Is it important to replace missing teeth?

Replacing missing teeth is ideal to maintain health and function. Your dentist will assess the missing teeth in your mouth and give you all the appropriate options.

How do whitening toothpastes work and how effective are they?

They work by removing surface stains only and may not whiten your teeth from within. If used inappropriately they may contribute to toothwear, so it is important for you to speak to your dentist regarding the best whitening options for you.

Which is the best toothpaste to use?

Adults and children over the age of 3 should use a fluoride toothpaste containing at least 1000 -1350 ppm F. We recommend patients use age appropriate fluoride toothpastes. Your dentist will be able to advise you on the best type for your teeth.

Do I need to use a mouthwash?

Mouthwashes should be used as an adjunct to oral hygiene measures. It is not a substitute for tooth brushing and flossing.
